Maps

Read each Chameleon map by surface family, not by corners.

A good hiding room has three things: a copyable surface family, an object or shadow that breaks your outline, and a lane out if the seeker starts sweeping.

Route

Choose the surface family before touching paint.

Plain walls, floors, dark door areas, and repeated props are easier to copy than mixed textures. If the room has many bright colors, pick one surface family and commit to it instead of making a messy multi-color body.

  • Wall routes reward clean broad paint and a flat pose.
  • Floor routes need low movement because the outline is easy to read.
  • Shadow routes forgive imperfect brush edges.
  • Prop routes work when the pose makes your body look like part of the object cluster.
Escape lane

Do not pick a perfect surface with no second move.

The best color match still loses if the seeker walks directly into you. Keep one short lane to a second surface family so you can rotate after the seeker leaves.

  • Paint near a second matching surface family when possible.
  • Avoid dead-end props unless the disguise is very strong.
  • Move after the seeker turns away, not while they enter.
Play order

Use this order in Roblox

  1. Choose the room's easiest surface family: wall, floor, shadow, or prop.
  2. Pick the exact spot beside that surface family.
  3. Paint to that surface instead of painting randomly.
  4. Keep one escape lane in mind.
  5. Rotate only when the seeker path opens.

Quick answers

What should I do first in Chameleon?

Choose the room by surface family, shadow, prop cover, outline break, and exit lane before painting.

Is this Chameleon guide for new players?

Yes. The first route is written for a Roblox player who wants a short, practical first session for this game.

Should I buy anything before the first run?

Play the free loop first, then compare passes only when they solve the movement or hiding choice that gets punished.
